P-4 Financial Aid

Financial Aid Notification

Students who are meeting satisfactory academic progress requirements and who have complete financial aid files will be notified via NDMU email that their financial aid for 2014-15 is available for view on Web Advisor beginning in mid-Spring.

Students will be packaged with financial aid for the summer 2014, fall 2014, and spring 2015 semesters. P4 students are NOT required to submit a summer financial aid request form.

If you do not receive a notice that your financial aid is ready for view, these are the possible reasons:

  • Your financial aid file is incomplete - check Web Advisor for missing documents and submit them as soon as possible.
  • You are on financial aid probation - your financial aid file will not be reviewed until grades are posted for the Spring 2014 semester.

Steps to Receive Aid

Grad PLUS loans: You must apply and be approved for the 2014-15 school year (even if you have received the loan in the past at NDMU). Instructions are available on our Federal Direct Graduate PLUS loan page.  Applications can be submitted beginning May 1. We recommend that you apply as soon as possible after May 1 to ensure timely processing.

Federal Direct Unsubsidized loans: No steps are required if you received this type of loan during 2013-14. If you have not borrowed this type of loan at NDMU before, you will need to apply for the loans. Instructions are our Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans page. Applications can be submitted beginning May 1. We recommend that you apply as soon as possible after May 1 to ensure timely processing.

Billing

Tuition and fees will be billed in three equal installments. Financial aid will be split into three equal disbursements as well. Please note that this is a change from previous years. Billing questions are handled by the Business Office.

Refunds

Summer financial aid disbursements will occur at the same time for all students regardless of which rotations they are assigned for the summer.  You should plan now so that refund money you received for spring 2014 will last until your summer refund check is available. Refer to the chart below.
