Federal Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient's course of study.

  • Federal Work-Study is available to undergraduate and graduate students with financial need.
  • To apply for the Federal Work-Study program, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by University's priority deadline of February 15. Work-study is awarded on a priority, first-come-first-served basis based on the FAFSA receipt date and financial need.
  • The amount of work-study you are eligible to earn is shown on your financial aid award letter.
  • The average academic-year Work-Study award is $1000.
  • The amount of your Work-Study award is determined by your need and the availability of funds at the University.
  • Work-Study positions are available in departments and offices throughout the University as well as off-campus community service jobs, such as tutoring elementary students.

The application process is posted annually on the financial aid website.
