Daily exercise practice has been a mainstay in Chinese culture for maintaining and supporting health and vitality of body and mind for over 1500 years. During this course, students discover the foundational principles and philosophy of restorative movement and the role healing exercise forms play in the greater system of Chinese Wellness. The course delves into a classical form of Qi Gong with practical, in-depth, hands-on instruction emphasizing integration of this therapeutic exercise into an overall wellness plan. The course will also provide students with communication skills to teach the basic principles of this therapy to others in a non-clinical setting. Students learn to guide self and others in a basic meditation practice to calm and center the mind and body. [ 4 credits ]
