This course prepares future and practicing School Library Media Specialists to lead, manage, and transform 21st-century school library programs. Students will examine the strategic administration of the library media center through the lens of the five core professional roles: Teacher, Leader, Instructional Partner, Information Specialist, and Program Administrator. Through a blend of theory and actionable practice, students will deeply analyze how these five roles intersect with the six shared foundations of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) National School Library Standards: Inquire, Include, Collaborate, Create, Explore and Engage.
