Develop deep understanding of K-3 mathematics aligned to Maryland College and Career Ready Standards. The course centers on conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, problem solving, mathematical reasoning, and quantitative reasoning and thinking across the K-3 progression. Students analyze the structure and coherence of number, operations, factions, measurement, data, and geometry; represent mathematical ideas in multiple ways; and justify solutions using precise reasoning. Emphasis is placed on how mathematical ideas develop across grade levels, connections among concepts, strategic flexibility, and the application of mathematics in varied contexts.
