Examines selected Shakespearean tragedies and romances. Explores earlier drama and sources that Shakespeare used and adapted. Provides opportunities for students to view major stage and film versions of the plays and to consider staging choices through the discussion and presentation of selected scenes. Fulfills general education requirement in literature and thinking critically and analytically. [3 credits]
