HIS-213: The Civil Rights Movement

Explores the American civil rights movement from the abolition of slavery to the present. While focusing on the 1950s-1960s, the course will also address how prior history laid the groundwork for the post-World War II civil rights struggle, as well as how the legacy of that struggle has evolved in subsequent decades. The course will examine the Civil Rights Movement rom multiple social, political, and economic perspectives. Fulfills general education requirements in Engaged Citizenship and history. [ 3 credits ]
