Examines the history and political impact of conspiracies and conspiracy theories throughout American History. Many believe that conspiracies are a 21st century phenomenon, yet they have impacted the social, economic, and political fabric of the United States for centuries. This course will explore both legitimate conspiracies as well as conspiracy theories, along with their consequences. Students will be able to identify the characteristics of a conspiracy theory by enhancing their media literacy and civic awareness.
