This course examines the intersection of health and culture, by looking at the impact of diversity and socio-cultural factors on health and healing. It includes a focus on the causation of morbidity and mortality in the US via the social determinants of health, health equity and cultural adaptation and acculturation. Students in this course will learn about the impact of social and cultural changes on the health care system through both an integrative and biomedical lens. [3 credits]
