Matriculant Status

A Matriculant is a student who has been officially admitted by the University as a candidate for an academic credential. Matriculants are guaranteed that NDMU will provide the courses required to fulfill the requirements for the credential. In order to maintain matriculant status, a student must maintain consistent enrollment. The Catalog (Catalog Year) in effect when a student matriculates contains the policies and requirements under which the student must satisfy to graduate.

Non-Matriculant Status (College of Adult Undergraduate Studies)

An individual registering/enrolling in courses without applying for admission to the University may do so as a Non-matriculant. A Non-matriculant may take courses for credit or audit. The same tuition and fees apply to Non-matriculants as to Matriculants. A Non-matriculant may accumulate no more than 18 undergraduate credits from NDMU; at this point, they must seek admission and matriculate as degree-seeking students. Academic advisors are available for non-matriculants who need assistance with course selection planning. Students taking courses as non-matriculants are not eligible for financial aid.
