This course is the second class in the two course sequence for the first year experience for honors students. It follows the fall Honors NDMU-100 class. In NDMU-102 students continue to examine the liberal arts and how it connects to their major, their experiences as a college student and as an honors student. Specifically, this course will introduce students to the disciplines which constitute the humanities: philosophy, literature, history, religion, language, art. Guest professors from each discipline will spend 4 classes familiarizing the honors students with their scholarly areas. The discipline will be examined through the lens of a specific theme chosen for the year. A final project will allow students to communicate how the humanities are interconnected and are related to their major. Serves as 3 honors credits and the English 101 requirement. Prerequisite: Must be a Morrissy Honors Student. Fulfills the general education requirement in Written Communication. [ 3 credits ]
