This course advances the doctoral student's mastery of quantitative data analysis techniques from the basics of statistics to advanced data manipulation and statistical modeling in preparation to complete the dissertation using quantitative methods. The course will emphasize assessing sources of variance and variable distributions, evaluating appropriate data structures, statistical moedeling strategies and tests while gaining hands-on practice with statistical software to answer quantitative research questions relevant to educational contexts and policies. Students will have the opportunity to implement advanced quantitative research designs using existing data sources and generate appropriate interpretations of results. Modules on data hygiene and coding in a software package will be included. [ 3 credits ]
