Through seminar meetings and a teaching nursing internship, this course provides opportunities for master's students in the leadership in education concentration to deepen understanding of nursing curriculum grounded in caring science through thoughtful enactment of pedagogical practice in a variety of settings. Reflection on the lived experience of being with students as a teacher and critical readings in pedagogy and practice allows for celebration of education as transformation. This course opens students to teaching internships in a variety of educational settings. The course faculty and preceptors collaborate with he student to create a place for being in teaching that prepares students for future nurse educator positions. Informed through previous knowledge and skills and through understanding curriculum as technical, autobiographical, and critical/phenomenological texts, students are required to enact transformative curriculum plans that are created in the preparation for their teaching. The seminar gathers the lived teaching experiences of the students with critical reading and writing and significant connections to pedagogical practice. Students prepare a publishable manuscript for presentation in poster format at the Master's symposium--Leadership for Transformation in Nursing at the end of the program.
