Students are introduced to the ethical and regulatory issues relevant to a professional clinical nutrition practice. Through discussions, reflective writing assignments, and case studies, students explore topics in legal and medical terminology, scope of practice, protecting client confidentiality, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and sales of nutraceuticals and health products.
