This course is designed to provide an overview of nutritional concepts and use of parenteral and enteral nutrition as well as introduce students to complementary forms of medicine (herbal therapy, homeopathy, chiropractic, etc.). Cannabis, vitamins, probiotics, and weight loss products are covered in this course. Emphasis is placed on the student's ability to retrieve and evaluate these forms of complementary medicine with the intent of providing appropriate patient recommendations. Prerequisite: PHRD-401.
