This electic course will focus on the molecular mechanism of tumorogenesis of solid tumors, such as breast cancer and lung cancer. Specific topics will include: oncogenes, angiogenesis, metastasis and apoptosis. Novel therapeutic approaches including nonoclonal antiodies, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, angiogenesis inhibitors and apoptosis inducers will also be explored, as well as the mechanism of action and potential use of complementary therapy such as natural products (ECGC, indole-3-carbinol, etc).
