Principles of Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry I is the first of the 2-course series, designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the mechanisms of drub action, chemical properties of medicinal agents, the relationships between drug structure and pharmacological activity and absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion. Through lectures, case studies and assignments, students will gain insights into the key concepts of drub mechanisms, design and development. At the end of the course, students will have a compreehensive understanding of medicinal chemistry and drug action in context of contemporary pharmaceutical sciences. [ 3 credits ]
