This course analyzes the New Testament letters of St. Paul within their cultural and literary milieu. The course examines some of the more controverted issues in Paul studies, such as his views on the Jewish Mosaic law, sexual ethics, and the role of women in the earliest Christian communities; allowing students to develop methods in historical critical research while making contemporary interpretations.
