Provides students with practical experiences beyond those ordinarily obtained from courses completed at NDMU. Experiences are generally in a professional setting (allied health, industrt, or government agency) and often help with career determination. Students arrange for an on-site supervisor and a faculty sponsor to coordinate activities and evaluate the student's performance. The work performed by the student must have a significant learning component in the biological sciences as judged by the faculty sponsor in consultation with departmental faculty. Credit earned at the rate of one credit for every ~45 hours or qualified work during an academic session. Written or electronic permission of the depatment chair required. Traditional students only with minimum of 24 credit hours completed. Credit repeatable with new experience up to a total of 9 credits. [ Variable credits: 1 - 3 credits ]
