Examines theories of justice and injustice, the ethics of resistance, and specific practices of resistance to injustice. Explores philosophical questions concerning whether individuals have obligations to resist opporession, whether unlawful actions concerning whether individuls have obligations to resist oppression, whether unlawful actions are ever just, and how acts of resistance are effective in creating more just society. Analyzes several real contemporary or historical social movements as morally-politically justified responses to injustice. [ 3 credits ]
